This is a reasonable question: who the hell am I? Some of you have dealt with me; some of you have not. So why should you trust me with your career?
Well, my book deal with the ABA makes me the first legal recruiter to ever be openly and publicly endorsed by them. They want me, to help you, achieve better career advancement and security. If that’s not enough for you, maybe your wondering why they choose me over any other legal recruiter? Well you’ll have to ask them that… But take a look at my bio and maybe you can draw your own conclusions.
I co-founded, own and run the Executive Recruiting and Coaching firm Edward Anthony & Steele, LLC. Here, we coach the careers and communication of literally the most prolific, head-of-industry attorneys in the world. I have 16 years of recruiting and coaching experience. Along with cofounding and running two Executive Recruiting and Coaching firms of my own, I’ve also worked within publicly traded companies such as CIBER and Intel, and with the privately held media company DreamWorks SKG.
In complement to my Executive Recruiting expertise, as a Communication Coach, I offer comprehensive communication skills training from both a personal and professional standpoint. This includes fostering the development of a strong knowledge base and an even stronger skill set in the fields of strategic verbal and nonverbal communication. Along with my Political Science degree from the University of Rochester (one of the nation’s leading programs) and more than 16 years of relationship management and negotiation experience, I maintain certification in, and extensive experience with, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) & Hypnotic communication; all of which places me in an elite class of Executive Recruiters, Executive Coaches and Strategic Communicators.
After spending my first 5 years as an Executive Recruiter in Corporate America, my competitive and entrepreneurial spirit drove me to found my first Executive Recruiting firm, David John Partners, which worked directly with technology executives at Fortune 100 companies such as Intel and IBM, and with Fortune 500 companies such as AMD, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm and Sun Microsystems. In 2003, I founded the Executive Recruiting and Coaching firm EAS (Edward Anthony & Stone – later changing the name to Edward Anthony & Steele, LLC in 2005), which is in charge of the most elite legal careers on Wall Street. My coaching responsibilities include the development of strategic verbal and nonverbal communication skills, along with overall business training for some of the top executives in the world. My search and placement responsibilities include the representation of Wall Street attorneys in their strategic career progression.
The law firms we work with, and the attorneys that run them, are among the largest and most influential in the world. They do the biggest deals, represent the biggest banks, handle the biggest bankruptcies and work on the largest litigation cases. A small sample of our client list includes Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, Clifford Chance, Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.
The level of communication and strategy required to compete in this environment is literally at the top of the food chain. Over the past 16 years, I have sought out, acquired and assimilated the most effective knowledge base and methods in the areas of human motivational psychology, coaching, and communication strategies and theories. I’ve literally made it my mission to gain the most thorough understanding of the way the human mind works in a real world setting. In fact, I’ve written a 1350 page text – endearingly labeled the Communication Genome Project by my clients – that is the single largest integrated text regarding the psychology of human motivation and its interplay with interpersonal communication.
