		<description>Hi Gert,

Thank you for the endorsement. I am in the process of searching for a literary agent as we speak... In my last post, I explained that my absence has been due to my concentration on finishing my first book. It is an 850 page masterpiece (albeit this is coming from a biased source :) ) However, I hope to have it on the market ASAP... Thank you so much for asking.

		<description>Hi Wayne,

Thanks for you comment. Indeed, the term &quot;mesmerize&quot; can be a bit ambiguous. What I am referring to here is the process of dropping an individual&#039;s brainwaves down into a Theta range, which is where clinical hypnosis would draw them. In the example you give above, in doing something off the wall, this would be more of a distraction. Although a distraction will indeed hijack critical thinking (for at least a brief moment), I (personally) would not consider this to be a hypnotic state. In fact, although the off the wall action may hijack their critical thinking for a moment, it will most likely serve to heighten it there after. Quick, unexpected and/or abrupt actions will indeed invoke a fight/flight response to some degree. The result is a release of hormones that serve to heighten awareness, this is something you won&#039;t want if attempting a hypnotic state. Effective usage of hypnotic language will serve to calm the mind by lowering brainwave activity. I hope this answered your question, if not please feel free to contact me.

<description>Hi David, I found your site and have been skipping through it to areas that interest me the most to get a sense of your writing style.. And to which I like so I have bookmarked your site..

I am curious about:
(instantly mesmerizing someone with communication is almost definitely an urban legend. Is it possible? I suppose… Just like it is possible that you can win the lottery. Is it probable? NO!)

Now this may depend on our views of hypnosis but can you expand on the above... Walk up to a complete stranger in a shopping centre with the intention of instantly mesmerising them... offer an handshake and as they respond do something off the wall... anything... see how long you keep them mesmerised...

Interesting site...

To your best
