What Do I Offer?
In conjunction with my efforts as the founding partner of the search and placement firm (EAS), I am an Executive and Communication Coach. What exactly does this mean? Well, I help you identify motivational, practical and communication oriented challenges in your professional and/or personal lives, and remedy them.
In my opinion, prepackaged and rigidly structured approaches to these types of coaching services is highly indicative of a “failure to launch” program, right out of the gate. Communication is thought, and thought is communication; both of which are highly dynamic, fluid and ever changing in the way they manifest. As such, identifying the issue and remedying it is the quintessential moving target. So if you are pointing your gun at a single, static position, you had better hope that the prey shows up in your sights, or you lose… In light of this irrefutable fact, the way in which I function is only bound by 4 steps that comprise a broad structure of execution.
1. Assessment – I spend 1 – 3 sessions with you and/or your team to determine what the challengers are (from both your perspective and mine) prior to discussing potential solutions.
2. Prescription – In this, I layout a macro-structure of execution that describes the flow of our solution-process and why we are doing it. It is important for you to not only understand what we are going to do, but also why we are doing it. In doing this, I take a very cognitive approach by educating you while helping to remedy issues through developing appropriate and effective skill sets.
3. Skill Training & Development – I help you to learn, practice and implement the specific skills that are necessary to accomplish your goals.Here we are taking a micro-structured position and putting the proverbial “meat” on the skeleton elaborated upon in our prescription phase.
4. Followup and Assessment – Once the skills are being deployed in the real world by you and/or your team, we will use formalized follow up sessions to assess, and if necessary, revamp your processes to accomplish the goals that have been set.
So what are the specific steps that will ensue? Well, that depends on the challenges presented and the goals that we are working to achieve. If this sounds vague, then you are paying attention… Without knowing the specifics of your challenges first, I would be the very definition of a “quack” if I prescribes a solution.
